About the Role
The role involves assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining wiring, equipment, and fixtures; interpreting plans and work orders; repairing high‑voltage systems; performing preventive maintenance; and ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety standards. • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using hand and power tools. • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, and other components. • Install, repair, and maintain motors, transformers, generators, lighting, and related equipment per code. • Read and interpret plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to plan work. • Repair and maintain high‑voltage systems. • Organize work by reviewing orders, gathering tools, and ordering supplies. • Read prints, layout work, and install new service. • Replace faulty parts to resolve electrical problems. • Conduct system tests and complete preventive maintenance tasks. • Ensure a safe work environment by following standards and complying with codes. • Update job knowledge through training and technical publications. • Collaborate with diverse teams and build professional relationships.

What You Bring
Mortenson is seeking an Electrical Journeyman to provide skilled craftsmanship for the maintenance and installation of electrical systems. Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED, possess at least two years of relevant experience, and have trade or technical certifications. Additional requirements include a valid driver’s license, ability to read plans, proficiency with various hand and power tools, and strong teamwork and communication skills. • Test circuits and system continuity with ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes. • High school diploma or GED. • Minimum two years of related electrical experience. • Trade or technical school certification/diploma. • Passed apprentice aptitude test. • Completed union‑specific and Mortenson project training. • Valid driver’s license. • Proficiency in English; Spanish a plus; able to read plans and operate equipment such as saws, sanders, drill presses, fall protection, and rigging. • Strong teamwork, positive attitude, customer service, attention to detail, active listening, and effective communication. • Ability to perform repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements. • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lb (over 50 lb with assistance).
