About the Role

As a Water Resources Engineer‑in‑Training based in Calgary, you will help communities grow and adapt to a changing climate. You will contribute to planning and designing stormwater, drainage, hydrotechnical and municipal water systems that support safer, more sustainable neighbourhoods. Working alongside experienced engineers across Municipal, Land Development, Transportation and Renewable Energy markets provides hands‑on exposure to a wide range of projects and real career growth. You will design and support the delivery of drainage, hydrotechnical and stormwater management solutions for both new and existing communities. Your work will include preparing engineering drawings and plans, developing calculations, building hydraulic models, and producing technical reports and presentation materials. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and occasional field activities will ensure designs align with real‑world conditions. • Design and deliver drainage, hydrotechnical and stormwater management solutions. • Prepare preliminary, detailed and tender‑ready engineering drawings and plans. • Develop and verify engineering calculations and technical assessments. • Build, run and refine hydrologic and hydraulic models to evaluate system performance. • Produce clear technical reports, memos and documentation for clients. • Assist with presentations and proposal content showcasing technical solutions. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate water resources into infrastructure projects. • Participate in field activities to align designs with site conditions.

What You Bring

A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, eligibility for Engineer‑in‑Training registration in Alberta, and 1‑4 years of relevant experience are required. Familiarity with municipal engineering, stormwater management, Alberta design standards, and hydraulic modeling tools (WaterCAD, PCSWMM, MIKE+, InfoWorks) as well as design platforms (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS) is expected. A curiosity‑driven, problem‑solving mindset and eagerness to learn new tools are essential. Candidates must be able to perform the physical tasks required, including work in remote or inclement conditions within safe limits. • Hold a Civil Engineering (or related) degree and be eligible for EIT registration in Alberta. • Possess 1–4 years of experience in municipal engineering, stormwater management or hydrologic/hydraulic modeling. • Proficient with modeling tools such as WaterCAD, PCSWMM, MIKE+ or InfoWorks and design software like AutoCAD, Civil 3D and GIS. • Demonstrate a problem‑solving mindset and eagerness to learn new tools.
