About the Role

The Quality Engineer is responsible for transition quality, working closely with the Sending Site Quality team to deploy work instructions, procedures, and associated process controls. This role ensures that all quality standards are consistently applied during product transitions. Key duties include analyzing, implementing, and coordinating scrap reduction and quality improvement projects, as well as managing First Article Inspection (FAI) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP). The engineer will also implement a new quality system that meets internal, customer, and industry requirements, applying tools such as FMEA, control plans, MSA, and process validation techniques to maintain manufacturing capability. • Coordinate transition quality activities and deploy work instructions with the Sending Site Quality team. • Lead scrap reduction and quality improvement projects, including FAI and PPAP execution. • Implement and maintain a quality system compliant with ISO 9001, AS9100, and NADCAP. • Apply FMEA, control plans, MSA, and process validation to assure manufacturing capability. • Identify training needs and deliver customer‑requirement training. • Manage calibration, CMM operations, and enhance inspection methods and equipment performance. • Utilize GD&T, gauging, SPC, APQP, RCCA, and other inspection techniques. • Communicate effectively with personnel from production associates to senior leadership.

What You Bring

The position involves identifying organizational training needs and delivering training related to customer requirements, handling calibration and CMM activities, and improving inspection methods, equipment performance, product quality, efficiency, and morale. Proficiency with GD&T, gauging, SPC, APQP, RCCA, and other inspection techniques is essential, along with compliance to ISO 9001, AS9100, and NADCAP quality assurance systems. The role requires strong analytical, project management, organizational, and time‑management skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, or aerospace engineering, have 5+ years of aerospace quality experience, and demonstrate expertise in machining, assembly, testing, MS Office, and MINITAB. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, or aerospace engineering and 5+ years aerospace quality experience. • Proficient in MS Office and MINITAB for data analysis.
