Relief Driver CDL B

About the Role

A Relief Driver – CDL (B) safely operates a collection truck and provides prompt, courteous waste removal services. The driver must ensure the vehicle complies with company safety standards, adhere to all state and federal regulations, and complete daily vehicle condition reports to address any defects promptly. • Perform pre‑ and post‑operation vehicle inspections, checking tire pressure, fluids, safety equipment, gauges, and controls, and report any issues. • Safely drive the heavy truck along assigned routes, read route sheets, follow maps, and service each customer as directed. • Operate manual/automatic controls to lift, load refuse, run the compactor, and dispose of material at the designated facility. • Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and others to ensure timely, professional service. • Identify and tag unsatisfactory waste containers following departmental procedures. • Continuously monitor waste for unacceptable material. • Clean area around accidental waste spills in compliance with safety standards. • Monitor vehicle condition, clean packer blade and truck body, and keep the truck operational to minimize downtime. • Complete required route/productivity sheets, vehicle condition reports, and other necessary documentation. • Meet department productivity standards to service customers efficiently. • Follow all required safety policies and procedures. • Actively participate in the Company’s ReSOP safety program. • Provide excellent customer service with professionalism, courtesy, honesty, and cooperation. • Follow through on schedules and challenges consistently. • Adhere to company policies, promote safety standards, and avoid inappropriate risks. • Access health care and dependent care spending accounts. • Participate in the Employee and Family Assistance Program (EAP).

What You Bring

• Manage time effectively to complete responsibilities safely and efficiently. • Preferably have two years of prior commercial truck driving experience. • Hold a Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License with air‑brakes endorsement.
