About the Role
E-J’s estimators play a pivotal role in securing bids, collaborating with bid teams, vendors, and project managers to ensure estimates reflect market conditions, client specifications, and company standards. • Review project plans, specifications, drawings, and schedules to understand scope. • Prepare detailed cost estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services. • Use McCormick and Bluebeam software to generate precise estimates. • Incorporate market conditions, labor rates, and material costs into pricing. • Collaborate with the bid team to create compliant bid proposals. • Participate in bid meetings and present the rationale behind pricing decisions. • Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for competitive pricing. • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors. • Generate regular cost‑tracking reports and estimate accuracy summaries. • Work with Engineering and Project Management to resolve ambiguities. • Share best practices to improve overall estimating capabilities.

What You Bring
• Minimum of 8 years of electrical estimating experience. • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or equivalent preferred. • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. • Expertise in electrical construction practices, materials, and methodologies. • Experience with estimating software such as McCormack and Bluebeam. • Strong analytical, mathematical, and attention‑to‑detail skills. • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities. • Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. • Familiarity with local construction market and regulations is advantageous. • Practical knowledge of new and renovation construction.
