About the Role

The Office Engineer assists the project management team by handling administrative, technical and coordination functions, managing documentation, supporting construction engineering tasks, and ensuring timely communication among contractors, design teams and stakeholders. The engineer tracks progress, maintains logs, supports cost and schedule controls, and processes submittals, RFIs and change orders accurately and promptly. • Maintain excellent relationships with design and construction professionals • Manage and maintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes and daily reports • Track and log contractor submittals, ensuring timely review and distribution • Prepare, process and follow up on RFIs, communicating responses promptly • Update RFI and submittal logs in PMWeb with accuracy • Organize hard‑copy and electronic project files and oversee document management systems • Ensure drawings and documents are posted and updated by contractors • Distribute documents, track review comments, compile responses, obtain approvals and issue formal replies • Coordinate information flow among contractors, design teams, inspectors and project managers • Assist in preparing construction meeting agendas, presentations and action item logs • Support field operations by aligning documentation with field activities • Maintain proper filing, organization and archiving per LAWA standards • Create exhibits, graphics and supporting materials for meetings and presentations • Perform additional project support duties such as attending meetings, expediting processes and maintaining logs

What You Bring

Candidates should have at least ten years of experience, preferably on airport projects, a strong technical or construction background, and familiarity with design‑bid‑build, CMAR and design‑build delivery methods. A bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or a related field is required; licensure and certifications such as PE, PMP or LEED are preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam and project‑management systems (ideally PMWeb) is expected. The position requires a company‑provided laptop, VPN access to LAWA systems, and a consultant‑provided cell phone. Work is performed on‑site Monday‑Friday, with occasional after‑hours or weekend work; it is not a remote position. Applicants must submit an updated resume, certifications, references and a project list. • Technical/construction background in an active environment • Knowledge of design and construction contracting practices and methodologies • Experience with project design life cycle from concept to permits and bulletins • Experience with project construction life cycle from pre‑construction through closeout • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam • Experience with project‑management implementation systems; preferably PMWeb • 10+ years experience, preferably on airport projects • Experience on large, complex project teams • Familiarity with design‑bid‑build, CMAR and design‑build delivery methods • Excellent written and oral communication with thorough industry knowledge • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or related field (required) • Licensed engineer (CA) preferred • Optional certifications such as AAAE, LEED, PE, PMP, AICP, etc. • May be required to work beyond regular hours or various shifts • LAWA provides a desktop or laptop for VPN access; consultant must supply a laptop and cell phone
