About the Role
The Maintenance Technician supports the operation, troubleshooting, diagnostics, housekeeping, and repairs of commercial buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, grounds, and maintenance equipment at assigned properties. This role ensures facilities remain functional and safe for occupants. • Troubleshoot and repair building systems, including packaging machinery, plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, grounds equipment, and HVAC. • Clean, lubricate, and service pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, and electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic devices. • Assist with installation and modification of building equipment and systems. • Replace and repair finishes such as ceiling tiles, door hardware, wallpaper, and paint walls, piping, floors, and equipment. • Evaluate maintenance operations and recommend upgrades or cost‑saving opportunities. • Apply proper use and care of tools and equipment for facility and grounds maintenance. • Respond immediately to emergencies and customer service requests. • Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for safety hazards and preventive‑maintenance needs. • Maintain and operate fire alarm, fire pump, and other life‑safety systems as assigned. • Perform carpentry work and snow removal when required. • Follow all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives, practicing safe work habits. • Utilize technology such as smartphones, tablets, computers, web‑based applications, and building automation systems. • Adhere to C&W uniform dress code and maintain a neat appearance on and off duty.

What You Bring
Key competencies include technical proficiency, initiative, flexibility, multi‑tasking, and a strong sense of urgency. The position requires at least a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Candidates should have a minimum of two years of relevant experience working in a commercial property environment. Practical knowledge of building systems is essential. Applicants must have technical or vocational training in areas such as HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair. A valid driver’s license with a good driving record and basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word are also required. The role may involve being the sole maintenance staff on duty, extended shifts, and on‑call responsibilities. The work environment is primarily a professional office setting equipped with standard office tools, including computers, phones, and photocopiers. Interaction with colleagues and use of technology for reporting and building automation are routine. Physical demands include regular communication, operating office equipment, moving around the workplace, and occasional stationary tasks. Employees must be able to extend hands and arms in any direction and perform manual tasks such as lifting, climbing, and using tools. • Complete required C&W safety training annually.

The hourly compensation ranges from $20.40 to $24.00 and complies with minimum wage and applicable collective bargaining agreements.
