About the Role

The role involves implementing public outreach strategies, serving as a liaison between projects and communities, creating news releases and other collateral, coordinating virtual and in‑person meetings, managing social‑media outreach, researching and writing content for multiple channels, monitoring media coverage, analyzing campaign effectiveness, directing support services such as graphic design and photography, and collaborating closely with project teams and clients to align communications with program priorities. • Develop and disseminate news releases, brochures, fact sheets, and media alerts. • Design and execute public outreach and engagement plans for infrastructure and water projects. • Serve as liaison between project teams and community stakeholders. • Coordinate virtual and in‑person public meetings and community events. • Manage social‑media outreach, including content creation, posting, and monitoring. • Write and edit website content, presentations, talking points, and marketing materials. • Track, archive, and respond to media inquiries and coverage. • Evaluate outreach campaign effectiveness and report findings. • Direct graphic design, web development, video, and photography support. • Collaborate with clients to align communications with project goals and assist business development.

What You Bring

Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, urban planning or a related field, 3‑5 years of communications experience, strong oral, written and interpersonal skills, superior organization and creative abilities, proven content creation for web and social media, attention to detail, the ability to translate technical information for public consumption, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends and occasional door‑to‑door outreach. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States full‑time and adhere to WSP’s safety and workplace policies. Preferred qualifications are experience with infrastructure projects (transportation, energy, water, construction), bilingual proficiency in conversational Spanish, and local residency.
