About the Role
Key duties include initiating, installing, troubleshooting, and optimizing customer systems that use advanced Direct Digital Control technology. The engineer acts as the local technical point of contact, provides solutions for increasingly complex issues, and delivers turnkey projects ranging from small to medium size. Responsibilities also cover ensuring proper operation of controls, sensors, and software, loading software, configuring trends, alarms, and reports, and maintaining clear communication and documentation for customers. • Initiate, install, troubleshoot, and optimize building automation systems using Direct Digital Control technology. • Serve as the local technical contact and field leader, delivering solutions for complex system issues. • Provide turnkey project delivery for small to medium scopes, ensuring proper operation of controls, sensors, and software. • Load software, configure trends, alarms, and reports; implement time‑management strategies to ensure customer satisfaction. • Communicate project status and details, and conduct site‑specific training for owners and operators.

The Master Field Engineer plays a crucial role in field commissioning of custom building automation systems. The position requires strong teamwork, time‑management, organization, communication, technical, and troubleshooting abilities. As a technical and product expert, the engineer solves complex problems, trains less‑experienced field engineers, and serves as the primary field contact. Required qualifications are a high school diploma or GED, at least five years of experience in building automation, HVAC, or a related technical field, the ability to climb ladders or use lift equipment over eight feet and lift up to 50 lb, and a valid driver’s license that meets the company’s insurance criteria. Preferred qualifications include an associate or bachelor’s degree, or a technical certificate in HVAC, controls, or a related area, proficiency with advanced building‑automation software such as WebCTRL, and strong knowledge of TCP/IP and wireless networks. Candidates should be adept at handling multiple simultaneous challenges across disciplines, communicating technical information to non‑technical audiences, working well in teams, and using Microsoft 365 applications. • Minimum qualifications: High School Diploma/GED, 5+ years in building automation or HVAC, ability to climb ladders and lift 50 lb, valid driver’s license. • Preferred qualifications: Associate/Bachelor degree or technical certificate in HVAC/Controls, proficiency with WebCTRL and TCP/IP/Wi‑Fi, strong multi‑disciplinary troubleshooting, excellent communication and teamwork, Microsoft 365 proficiency.
