SME - Modeling, Simulation & Wargaming

About the Role

In this role the SME will guide multidisciplinary teams through challenging problem sets, conduct physical testing and data analysis, and develop system assessments, integration strategies, implementation plans, and test and evaluation artifacts aligned with program goals. • Serve as primary SME for advanced modeling & simulation and wargaming system integration. • Conduct physical testing, structured data analysis, and technical interpretation to validate models and simulations. • Lead development of system assessments, integration strategies, implementation plans, and test & evaluation artifacts. • Provide technical leadership to cross‑functional engineering, analysis, and software development teams on multi‑million‑dollar programs. • Evaluate emerging technologies such as AI/ML, microservices architectures, and advanced analytics for modernization roadmaps. • Translate operational and capability requirements into detailed technical specifications with traceability throughout the acquisition lifecycle. • Mentor and develop team members, offering constructive feedback and workforce development support. • Coordinate with government customers, industry partners, and other stakeholders to align technical execution with mission objectives. • Collaborate with multiple DoD stakeholders, FFRDCs, and industry partners on large‑scale M&S initiatives.

What You Bring

The company is seeking a highly experienced Subject Matter Expert in Modeling & Simulation, wargaming, and analytical systems integration. The SME will lead multi‑disciplinary teams on DoD technical efforts that support advanced decision‑making, force design, and capability development, shaping project direction and delivering next‑generation M&S technologies. Basic qualifications include U.S. citizenship, an active DoD Secret clearance (or ability to obtain), a bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least 20 years of experience, or 28 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree in operations research, mathematics, systems engineering, computer science, or a related field, experience integrating AI/ML technologies into M&S, background in VV&A and wargaming tool development, and relevant certifications such as DAWIA Engineering or Program Management. • Maintain U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance (or ability to obtain). • Possess 20+ years of relevant experience (or 28+ years without a degree) and a bachelor’s degree in a related field. • Hold an advanced degree in a technical discipline (preferred) and experience integrating AI/ML into M&S solutions. • Demonstrated background in VV&A, analytics for AoA studies, wargaming tool development, or multi‑domain simulation environments. • Hold relevant certifications such as DAWIA Engineering or Program Management.
