About the Role
As the subject‑matter expert, you will lead the development of new vacuum interrupter products, leveraging Voice of Customer insights and creating valuable intellectual property. You will monitor emerging technologies, represent the product line at industry conferences, and participate in IEEE and IEC standard activities. A deep understanding of the manufacturing process will enable you to contribute to cost‑out initiatives, troubleshoot production issues, and support new process development, while you also prepare technical reports and deliver presentations to multidisciplinary, multicultural teams worldwide. • Lead R&D and development of new vacuum interrupter products using Voice of Customer insights. • Drive technology innovation and generate value‑added intellectual property. • Monitor emerging technologies and represent the product line at industry conferences. • Participate in IEEE and IEC standard activities and the Switchgear Committee. • Understand and improve vacuum interrupter manufacturing processes for cost‑out and troubleshooting. • Provide technical support for customer product issues, quality‑hold resolutions, and failure analysis. • Prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations to global teams. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary, multicultural, globally distributed teams to achieve project goals.

What You Bring
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Vacuum Interruption Technology Expert to support our vacuum interrupter business and its customers. The role combines research, development, and application expertise to drive technology innovation and advance our product portfolio. Collaboration with global teams is essential to deliver cutting‑edge solutions. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s (and preferably a Master’s or PhD) in Electrical Engineering or Physics, with at least seven years of experience designing, developing, and testing vacuum arc or vacuum interrupter technologies. Hands‑on expertise with MV switchgear, strong knowledge of power systems, standards, and engineering problem‑solving methods, as well as proficiency in Creo, Maxwell, and MATLAB, are required. You must demonstrate excellent communication, collaborative skills, integrity, and the ability to travel domestically and internationally to support global customers. • Minimum 7 years of engineering experience in vacuum arc/interrupter technology; advanced degree preferred. • Hands‑on experience in development, testing of vacuum interrupters and medium‑voltage switchgear. • Proficient with design and simulation tools such as Creo, Maxwell, and MATLAB. • Strong understanding of power systems, standards, materials, surface chemistry, and brazing. • Demonstrated integrity, creativity, self‑motivation, and goal orientation. • Ability to travel domestically and internationally; excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
