About the Role

The Senior WRM Project Manager will scope, plan, direct, and monitor water resources projects of any size—from small storm‑water designs and dam safety studies to large dams, levees, and civil works design projects. The position requires independent client interaction and supervision of multidisciplinary teams that include engineers, modelers, subconsultants, scientists, and planners, with preferred experience in flood control, dam safety, storm‑water treatment, risk management, reservoirs, or levees. Key responsibilities include acting as the trusted client‑facing manager, developing and leading project teams to deliver quality, and creating and executing QA/QC and risk‑management plans. The manager will work directly with owners to exceed expectations, mentor staff, and support business‑development activities such as pursuit planning, proposals, and client strategy while managing scopes, schedules, and budgets. • Serve as trusted client‑facing project manager for diverse water resources projects. • Lead and supervise multidisciplinary teams of engineers, modelers, scientists, and subconsultants. • Scope, plan, schedule, and monitor projects ranging from stormwater design to large dams and levees. • Develop and implement QA/QC and risk management plans for each project. • Ensure project outcomes exceed client expectations and deliver high quality. • Mentor staff and oversee their technical development. • Drive business development activities, including pursuit planning, proposals, and client strategy. • Manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets to ensure successful delivery. • Leverage existing relationships with South Florida Water Management District and USACE. • Provide technical expertise in flood control, dam safety, stormwater treatment, reservoirs, or related areas.

What You Bring

HDR seeks a proven leader and technically exceptional professional to join the Florida Water Business Group as a Senior Water Resources Management (WRM) Project Manager. The role will collaborate with leadership, project managers, and technical staff across Florida, the Southeast, and nationally, upholding HDR’s commitment to excellent technical delivery for clients. Preferred qualifications feature established relationships with the South Florida Water Management District and the USACE, demonstrated leadership and staff mentorship, and technical expertise in at least one area such as H&H analysis and design, dam safety, site civil design, geotechnical or structural engineering. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in engineering, a professional engineer (PE or P.Eng) license, ten years of relevant experience, and a minimum of five years in project management. Candidates must be proficient with MS Office and MS Project (Access is a plus) and show strong leadership, business‑development, and strategic‑planning abilities, as well as a commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, PE/P.Eng license, and 10+ years of relevant experience. • Possess at least 5 years of project management experience and proficiency with MS Office/Project.
