About the Role
• Ensure proper IWP is in place and understood; examine blueprints for dimensions. • Lay out floor plans and cabinetwork using tape, framing square, and calipers; select and inspect materials for code compliance. • Determine sequence of fabrication, assembly, and erection; assign tasks to workers. • Inspect subcontractor work (ductwork, wiring, pipe installations) for specification conformance; install doors, build stairs, and lay hardwood floors. • Unload, handle, stockpile, and erect prefabricated materials; order necessary materials in advance. • Perform concrete and rough carpentry (hand set walls, footings, forms, structural concrete decks, slabs, columns, drywall). • Perform finish carpentry (set door frames, hang doors, install hardware, toilet accessories, handrails, partitions, lockers, cabinets, countertops, wall paneling, coffered ceilings, running trim). • Train craft and foreman on job procedures; supervise crews, verify safety, quality, productivity; assign tasks; verify timecards; lead by example; build relationships; perform other duties as assigned.
