About the Role
The Branch Fleet Technician will be responsible for maintaining diesel equipment and hydrovac operation by performing inspections, preventive maintenance, and necessary adjustments and alignments. Corrects vehicle deficiencies and keeps accurate records with guidance and direction. Manages work orders in Fleetio to ensure comprehensive documentation and tracking. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of diesel equipment, ultimately supporting the overall operational success of the organization. The technician performs inspections, diagnoses, and repairs of assigned vehicles and equipment, including preventative tasks such as oil changes and greasing of trucks. Safety checks on trucks are conducted regularly, and clear communication with the Branch Manager, Regional Fleet Staff, and maintenance team is maintained. The Hydrovac fleet is kept operational by following instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, and performing preventive maintenance. Job knowledge is updated through educational opportunities and technical publications, and occasional emergency service calls may be performed. Work is performed in a clean, safe environment in compliance with Corporate/OSHA standards and established procedures. • Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel vehicles and equipment. • Conduct safety checks and preventive maintenance such as oil changes and greasing. • Maintain clear communication with branch management and fleet staff. • Operate and troubleshoot the Hydrovac fleet, managing supplies and breakdowns. • Update technical knowledge through training and industry publications. • Respond to emergency service calls as needed. • Follow Corporate/OSHA standards to keep a clean, safe work environment. • Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting 25–50 lb objects and working over 40 hours per week. • Provide own standard tools; company supplies specialty tools.

What You Bring
Candidates must have a high school diploma and be licensed as a Heavy Duty Technician. A driver’s license is required, with a Class B CDL preferred. The role involves frequent physical activities such as sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, bending, lifting, and reaching, including lifting objects weighing 25 to 50 pounds, and may require more than 40 hours per week. Applicants should possess some knowledge of electronic diagnostics and be familiar with Peterbilt and Western Star chassis and Hydrovac equipment troubleshooting. Understanding of DOT compliance, safety regulations, and proficiency with Fleetio, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel is expected. Standard tools must be provided by the employee, while specialty tools are supplied by the company. • Hold a high school diploma and Heavy Duty Technician license; driver’s license required, Class B CDL preferred. • Possess electronic diagnostic skills and familiarity with Peterbilt, Western Star, and Hydrovac equipment. • Understand DOT compliance and safety regulations. • Proficient with Fleetio, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel.
