About the Role

• Survey existing infrastructure and collect soil, water, vapor, and sediment samples using standard field equipment. • Prepare and ship samples, maintaining chain‑of‑custody paperwork and accurate field documentation. • Apply scientific principles to develop solutions for limited‑scope technical problems and draft work plans. • Interpret data, conduct analyses, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. • Plan, execute, analyze, and report on environmental measures in natural systems. • Coordinate sampling activities with project and field managers, managing workload and progress updates. • Maintain health and safety standards, wearing PPE and operating a large pickup/SUV on job sites.

What You Bring

The company is seeking an Environment Intern for the Arlington, Virginia office within the Stormwater Group. The role is primarily field‑based, requiring daily travel to Loudoun County, and will run from May/June 2026 through the summer into the fall semester. Interns will work under senior managers and technical experts, contributing to federal, municipal, and private projects. • Pursuing or holding a Bachelor’s (or Master’s) degree in Engineering or Environmental field; U.S. citizenship required. • Hold a valid U.S. driver’s license, clean motor‑vehicle record, and ability to lift 25 lb unassisted (50 lb with assistance). • Demonstrate knowledge of environmental sciences, especially stormwater, and proficiency with ArcGIS or AutoCAD preferred. • Communicate professionally in writing and verbally with clients, regulators, and team members.
