Job Highlights
About the Role
• Ensure compliance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and related regulations. • Develop, implement, and continuously improve a site‑specific Construction Safety and Health Plan. • Review PSDP preliminary plans for coverage of high‑risk activities, emergency arrangements, and concurrent work. • Coordinate safe systems of work, access control, welfare facilities, and worker competence with contractors. • Appoint and manage Site Safety Representatives and Safety Advisors as needed. • Conduct regular inspections and audits, drive corrective actions, and maintain H&S documentation. • Manage HSA notifications, incident/accident reporting, and liaison with HSA inspectors. • Monitor contractor compliance, facilitate information sharing, and provide safety file inputs to the PSDP. • Notify client and HSA of significant non‑compliance when required. • Identify health & safety performance indicators effectively. • Maintain membership in IOSH or another relevant professional body with a commitment to continual professional development.

What You Bring
• Hold a degree or diploma in safety and health (or equivalent qualification). • Possess a Safe Pass/CSCS Card (or equivalent) and IOSH Managing Safety in Construction certification. • Bring 15+ years of health and safety experience, including 7+ years on major infrastructure/engineering projects, ideally rail. • Demonstrate proven leadership in managing H&S on large, complex projects. • Exhibit excellent written communication and interpersonal skills. • Show strong influencing, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities. • Be a self‑motivated team player with strong organizational skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines. • Possess additional or higher‑level safety, health, or construction‑related qualifications and ongoing professional training.
