About the Role
• Leverage extensive mechanical design experience to deliver high-quality, efficient, and commercially sound outcomes across health, defence, transport infrastructure, sports infrastructure, data centres, and other complex building projects throughout ANZ. • Provide technical leadership for mechanical design and project delivery on major client projects, including senior-level technical reviews and design assurance. • Lead multiple technical projects simultaneously, ensuring consistent quality, technical rigor, and timely delivery across various sectors. • Collaborate within multi-disciplinary engineering teams, reviewing design calculations, specifications, drawings, and documentation to drive quality. • Mentor and support junior engineers, guiding the preparation of high-quality mechanical design documentation and deliverables.

What You Bring
The national Building Engineering team in Melbourne is seeking a technically strong Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead a wide variety of building services projects across key market sectors, including health, defence, transport infrastructure, sports facilities and data centres throughout ANZ. Ideal candidates bring more than 12 years of experience in building services consultancy or senior/project engineering within the mechanical contracting sector, with RPEV and CPEng registration preferred. They must demonstrate a proven track record of high‑quality technical design, strong client relationship management, and deep knowledge of Australian standards and codes. • 12+ years’ experience in building services consultancy or senior/project engineering within the mechanical contracting sector. • Preferred registration as RPEV and CPEng. • Proven track record in high-quality technical design and project delivery with strong client relationship management. • In-depth knowledge of building services systems, Australian Standards, and relevant codes; ability to share expertise with teams. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; passion for mentoring and developing engineers.
