About the Role
We are seeking a Supervised Mechanical Engineer to join our Richmond, VA team. In this role you will represent the firm in all interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members, while supervising, coordinating, and assigning various projects to the engineering team. The Engineer of Record will lead coordination meetings, supervise staff, participate in budgeting, scheduling, and staff management, and contribute to firmwide Expert Teams. Responsibilities also include establishing design standards, managing construction administration, preparing proposals and contracts, and overseeing project invoicing and accounts receivable. • Serve as Engineer of Record and lead coordination meetings on assigned projects. • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate engineering staff while assigning project tasks. • Develop design standards, specifications, and criteria for MEP systems. • Manage construction administration, including field reports, RFIs, bulletins, and addenda. • Coordinate invoicing and monitor project accounts receivable with the accounting team. • Prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and add service agreements for clients. • Conduct system analysis, option studies, and building condition reports. • Ensure compliance with budgeting, scheduling, and staff management processes.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a current PE license, have healthcare design experience, and bring a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Required experience includes 15+ years in consulting MEP, 7+ years of project management, and at least 3 years of supervisory experience, with strong hands‑on CAD/Revit design skills. • Hold a current PE registration with healthcare design experience; 15+ years consulting MEP, 7+ years project management, and 3+ years supervisory experience. • Possess hands‑on design skills using CAD/Revit and strong technical expertise.
