About the Role

• Assess project uncertainties and develop contingency proposals. • Prepare overall estimates with optimistic and pessimistic targets for each task. • Continuously review and update estimates as new project information emerges. • Provide life‑cycle costing for estimating components. • Apply top‑down conceptual estimating using comparative and parametric techniques, normalizing for escalation, currency, and market conditions. • Produce detailed bottom‑up measurement‑based estimates from bills of quantities and activity‑based costs. • Lead, assemble, and present estimate deliverables to internal and external clients.

What You Bring

Parsons is seeking a highly talented Senior Estimator – Rail and Transit Systems to join our team on this premier infrastructure project. The position offers the opportunity to lead estimating efforts across the full project lifecycle, develop contingency proposals, and continuously refine estimates as new information becomes available. You will be responsible for both top‑down conceptual estimating using comparative and parametric techniques and bottom‑up measurement‑based estimating based on bills of quantities and activity‑based costs. The role reports to the Critical Infrastructure team and works closely with internal and external clients. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience. • Bring 15+ years of related estimating experience, preferably on industrial and commercial projects. • Demonstrate experience with systems such as traction power, signaling, and MEP. • Proficient in Word, Excel, and estimating/database software. • Understand estimating processes, including quantity takeoff, productivity, material quotations, markup structures, and documentation. • Experience using industry estimating software. • Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision and mentor junior staff. • Willingness to travel as required; no security clearance required.
