About the Role

As a Quality Engineer intern/co‑op, you will assume responsibility for quality improvements within a facility or specific projects, manage root cause analysis, and participate in product quality planning activities such as impact analysis, preliminary capability studies, FMEA, and quality plan development. You will review QMS procedures, interpret customer quality system requirements, audit business functions, create compliance reports, and collaborate with business units to implement corrective actions. Additional duties include data manipulation, Excel spreadsheet creation, developing standard work for inspection processes, and standardizing outputs of CMMs, audits, and calibrations. • Lead quality improvement initiatives within facility projects. • Conduct root cause analysis and apply hands‑on troubleshooting. • Participate in product quality planning (impact analysis, FMEA, quality plans). • Review QMS procedures, interpret customer quality requirements, and audit processes. • Generate compliance reports and collaborate on corrective actions. • Manipulate data and create Excel spreadsheets to support project tasks. • Develop standard work for inspection and standardize CMM, audit, and calibration outputs.

What You Bring

The company is seeking a motivated, results‑oriented college student for a summer 2026 internship. The Carrier internship provides practical, challenging, and meaningful on‑the‑job experience, allowing interns to apply knowledge and contribute to Carrier’s business strategy. Basic qualifications include pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering Management with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship. Preferred qualifications are proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills, self‑drive, ability to manage multiple priorities, effective communication at all levels, and teamwork experience; prior internship experience is a plus. • Pursue a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Management with GPA ≥ 3.0. • Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills. • Ability to manage multiple tasks, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively.
