About the Role
• Read blueprints and specifications to determine material quantities, locations, and sizes. • Identify required tools and necessary safety precautions for each task. • Prepare, fabricate, install, and fit pipe components, including valves, hangars, supports, and flanges. • Perform quality tests on pipe and piping systems to ensure compliance with specifications. • Hoist loads using rigging equipment such as slings, chains, shackles, hooks, and cables. • Oversee helpers and laborers as needed, providing expertise without direct supervisory responsibility. • Lift, carry, and move up to 50 lb; work at heights up to 300 ft using appropriate fall‑protection equipment.

What You Bring
An Industrial Pipe Fitter assembles, lays out, installs, and maintains pipe systems for steam, fluid, or gas applications. Work may involve pipe, flanges, supports, valves, gauges, hangars, and angles, and can take place inside buildings, tanks, boilers, underground excavations, or at heights up to 300 ft. The role requires a valid driver’s license, a background check, and an immediate drug screening. Candidates must have at least four years of experience as an Industrial Pipe Fitter or helper, be able to read prints and demonstrate thorough knowledge of pipe‑fitting procedures, and possess strong leadership and communication abilities. Experience on industrial construction projects is also required. Required qualifications include a proven industrial construction or maintenance background, the ability to read and interpret drawings, technical manuals, and manufacturer instructions, and at least six years of pipe‑fitting experience. Applicants should exhibit problem‑solving skills, manual dexterity, good reading comprehension, and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team while adhering to Zachry’s safety values. Preferred credentials are Zachry ROF status or prior employment, NCCER Plus certification for Industrial Pipe Fitting, and formal technical education. The position demands extensive physical activity such as standing, walking, bending, squatting, lifting up to 50 lb, and occasional work at heights up to 300 ft with proper fall protection. Employees must tolerate outdoor weather conditions for up to 12‑hour shifts and wear required personal protective equipment. • Demonstrated industrial construction/maintenance experience with at least six years of pipe‑fitting work. • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, manufacturer instructions, and construction drawings. • Knowledge of pipe‑fitting processes for combined‑cycle power plant boiler components. • Strong problem‑solving abilities, manual dexterity, and effective communication with co‑workers and supervisors. • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a collaborative team player. • Sustain prolonged standing, walking, bending, squatting, and up to 12‑hour shifts in various weather conditions. • Wear required PPE, including hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, hearing protection, respirator, safety vest, gloves, and steel‑toe boots.
