About the Role

Manage, lead, and oversee projects through the full lifecycle—from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, control, and closeout—for both design‑engineering and engineering‑construction initiatives. Oversee project performance, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, communications, resources, procurement, and risk management, while being accountable for meeting financial and delivery objectives. Provide independent leadership and oversight for project teams, coordinating with FNI’s national offices and serving as a technical lead. Deliver internal quality control throughout the stormwater practice within your areas of expertise. Serve as the primary client contact on assigned projects, actively participating in client meetings, public presentations, and stakeholder interactions at various project stages. • Manage stormwater projects through all phases, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk objectives are met. • Lead multidisciplinary project teams and provide technical oversight across national offices. • Serve as primary client liaison, presenting at meetings and stakeholder sessions.

What You Bring

Freese and Nichols is currently searching for a highly motivated Stormwater Project Manager with a strong technical background to direct and lead stormwater management projects. This is an exciting opportunity to serve in a seller‑doer role primarily focused on our Stormwater practice. In this role you will act as a project manager/engineer on pursuits and execute project delivery with our nationally‑recognized technical teams. You will also partner with clients to create and develop projects and opportunities that help establish client accounts across multiple professional service practices. As a key member of our Tampa Stormwater team you will ensure projects meet internal quality expectations, client expectations, and are delivered on time and within budget. The ideal candidate has 6+ years of stormwater management experience, a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a comparable engineering or applied science degree, and a Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license. Proficiency with software packages such as ICPR/Stormwise, HEC‑HMS, HEC‑RAS (steady, unsteady flow, and two‑dimensional), ArcGIS ArcMap, and the Microsoft Office suite is required. Preferred qualifications include experience with advanced hydrology and hydraulic modeling software like Infoworks ICM, XP‑SWMM, and ICPR 4, as well as ArcGIS Pro. Holding a CFM certification or experience in floodplain management practices is advantageous. Knowledge of FEMA RiskMap programs, flood risk analysis guidelines, and local expertise in Northeast and Southwest Florida—including familiarity with FDEP and WMD permitting criteria—is also valued. • Possess 6+ years of stormwater management experience, a Civil Engineering degree, and a Florida PE license. • Proficient with ICPR/Stormwise, HEC‑HMS, HEC‑RAS, ArcGIS, and Microsoft Office. • Preferred experience with Infoworks ICM, XP‑SWMM, ICPR 4, ArcGIS Pro, and CFM certification. • Knowledge of FEMA RiskMap program and Florida permitting (FDEP, WMD) is desirable.
