About the Role
The MEP Manager will oversee all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire suppression, and fire alarm activities on‑site, ensuring smooth coordination with civil disciplines. This role includes managing the project coordinator, tracking progress, identifying risks, and escalating issues to the MEP Construction Manager. Strong knowledge of MEP sequencing and interdisciplinary collaboration is essential. The manager will enforce design specifications, quality standards, and schedule adherence while assessing constructability and working with the design team to refine solutions. Close collaboration with MEP subcontractors and internal discipline leaders will be required to develop standardized processes, tools, and templates for project execution. Responsibilities also include managing MEP interface documentation, supporting internal teams with timely updates, and ensuring rigorous document‑control compliance. Regular reporting on status, risks, and achievements will be provided to senior management, and the manager will mentor MEP coordinators in best practices. • Oversee on‑site MEP activities, ensuring coordination with civil disciplines. • Manage and mentor the project coordinator and MEP coordinators. • Track project progress, identify potential risks, and proactively raise issues. • Ensure implementation of MEP systems aligns with design specifications, quality standards, and timelines. • Assess constructability and collaborate with design teams to refine solutions. • Coordinate closely with MEP subcontractors and internal discipline leaders. • Develop and standardize processes, tools, templates, and ICD documentation for MEP integration. • Enforce strict document‑control protocols in partnership with the document control team. • Provide regular status reports, including achievements, risks, and integration needs, to the MEP Construction Manager. • Participate in governance meetings to support discipline‑specific planning and reporting.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold an Engineering, Engineering Technologist or Construction Technology diploma, degree, or post‑graduate certificate. They need 8–10 years of infrastructure experience with a deep understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire suppression systems, preferably on large joint‑venture or transit projects. Proficiency in reading drawings, MS Office suite, and strong written and oral communication skills are required. The role demands self‑motivation, strong organization, independent work ability, and the capacity to see projects through from inception to implementation. A valid Ontario G or G2 driver’s licence and willingness to travel across Toronto sites are required, with occasional extended hours, weekends, and holidays.
