Job Highlights
About the Role
Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side or rear lift attachments to transport waste or recyclable containers that can exceed 1,000 lb. Depending on the assignment, drivers may perform residential pickups, roll‑off loading, or commercial container services, often requiring skilled backing maneuvers in congested or tight environments. All drivers must operate vehicles in compliance with WM safety rules, OSHA and DOT regulations, and complete pre‑ and post‑trip inspections documented on a Driver Vehicle Inspection Report. They are expected to report unsafe conditions, incidents, or service interruptions to the Operations Manager or Dispatch, and to communicate customer requests while leaving each site clean and free of debris. Route assignments are followed, end‑of‑day paperwork is completed, and drivers assist teammates as needed. • Operate heavy‑duty trucks with lift attachments to transport waste or recyclables. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR reports. • Follow WM safety, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws and regulations. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents, and service interruptions to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Communicate customer requests and ensure dump sites are left clean and debris‑free. • Follow assigned routes, complete end‑of‑day documentation, and assist fellow drivers as needed.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License with an air‑brake endorsement, have at least one year of commercial driving experience (or recent military driving), be 18 years or older, and be legally authorized to work in the United States. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. The role requires physical abilities such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking and hearing, with accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
