About the Role

The role encompasses design leadership, management and coordination, and technical oversight across all project phases, ensuring compliance with codes, safety, accessibility, sustainability, and client standards while integrating urban design and placemaking elements. • Lead architectural vision and design direction for rail and transit facilities, ensuring compliance with government codes and regulations. • Integrate urban design, wayfinding, and placemaking principles into building designs. • Prepare and review concept, optioneering, preliminary and detailed 3D designs, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates. • Oversee architectural scope, schedule, and deliverables throughout all project phases. • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams (structural, MEP, civil, landscape, specialty consultants) within a 3D BIM environment. • Provide technical expertise to transit authorities, government agencies, and community stakeholders and represent projects in presentations and public forums. • Ensure compliance with building codes, transit design guidelines, safety standards, and sustainability criteria (LEED, Envision); review subcontractor submittals and develop project specifications.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate has experience on Metrolinx and/or Toronto Transit Commission projects and expert‑level knowledge of Revit to lead complex architectural design efforts. Our hybrid model combines in‑office collaboration three days a week with flexibility to excel in a vibrant environment. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, be licensed to practice in Ontario, and bring 15–20 years of BIM and large‑scale transit project experience, demonstrated leadership on Metrolinx/TTC projects, strong communication, leadership, and graphic presentation skills, and a willingness to travel domestically and internationally. • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and licensure to practice in Ontario (other provinces a plus). • 15–20 years of architectural modeling, detailing, and large‑scale BIM project delivery. • Proven leadership on Metrolinx and/or TTC large‑scale transit projects. • Expert‑level proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; MicroStation and Navisworks considered assets. • Strong knowledge of Ontario Building Code, energy conservation, barrier‑free design, and station planning. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; French proficiency is an asset. • Advanced MS Office and graphic presentation abilities; willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
