About the Role

The Electrical Engineering Intern position (2nd‑year focus) supports the development of engineering criteria and guidance deliverables (SDC/IDM) for the Sentinel program. The role is ideal for a detail‑oriented Electrical Engineering student who wants to learn how major programs manage technical criteria and contribute through research, organization, and disciplined documentation. The intern will work under the Electrical Discipline Lead and program leadership, supporting multi‑disciplinary teams and following structured review and configuration processes. The position is part of Parsons Federal Solutions, which delivers integrated engineering and mission‑focused services to U.S. government customers in defense, security, intelligence, infrastructure, and environmental domains. • Compile and organize electrical inputs for criteria documents (distribution concepts, grounding/bonding, power quality, lightning protection, interfaces). • Structure content into review‑ready formats such as tables, outlines, and checklists. • Maintain trackers for assumptions, open items, and decisions, providing weekly summaries. • Track comment resolution, manage owners, dispositions, and closure evidence, and produce meeting roll‑ups. • Support document control in the repository, including file naming, versioning, and draft routing. • Draft meeting minutes, action logs, and capture decisions and follow‑ups accurately. • Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure consistent electrical interfaces.

What You Bring

• Enrolled in an ABET‑accredited Electrical Engineering program, 2nd‑year standing at internship start. • Completed foundational coursework such as calculus‑based physics and introductory circuits. • Strong written communication and organizational skills for technical notes, trackers, and minutes. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn SharePoint/workflows. • Ability to work on multi‑disciplinary teams and follow structured review/configuration processes. • Preferred: basic power systems exposure (single‑line diagrams, distribution fundamentals) and experience with structured documentation or checklists. • Ability to read and extract information from technical standards under supervision.
