About the Role
The role is a full-time, hybrid position based in Derby, reporting as Sustainability Manager for Rolls-Royce Submarines (RRSL). The manager will develop and deliver RRSL’s sustainability strategy and improvement programme, coordinating a net-zero, energy and waste reduction route map across the company’s operations, products and supply chain. Key responsibilities include leading the integrated sustainability strategy, creating a fully costed and risk-assessed plan, and ensuring statutory reporting compliance. The role also manages the Sustainability team, serves as the go-to sustainability contact, and oversees the production of ESG and sustainability reports. • Lead and deliver RRSL’s integrated sustainability strategy • Develop and implement a costed, risk-assessed net-zero, energy and waste reduction roadmap across operations, products and supply chain • Ensure compliance with all statutory sustainability reporting obligations • Manage the Sustainability team and act as the primary sustainability point of contact • Produce and edit ESG and sustainability reports and disclosures • Engage effectively with colleagues at all seniority levels on sustainability matters • Consistently meet performance targets and take proactive corrective actions • Create sustainability strategies, reports and communication materials for large organisations

What You Bring
The ideal candidate has experience as a sustainability manager or in a comparable role within a large corporate setting, can engage with senior stakeholders, and consistently meets performance targets. Proven ability to produce sustainability reports, strategies and communications for large organisations, and a capacity to think broadly, share a vision and embrace change are essential. Working for Rolls-Royce Submarines requires a Security Check clearance, which the company will support, and candidates must be UK nationals or MoD‑approved dual nationals.
