About the Role

In this senior position, you will provide management review and guide a regional team in developing business plans, targeting pursuits, and executing a variety of projects and processes. As a privately held, management‑owned company, the organization offers ownership opportunities to reward key leaders for driving performance and recognition. The Managing Director will build and coordinate regional staff, maintain client satisfaction, and generate new and expanded revenue streams. Responsibilities include forecasting pipelines, collaborating with practice area directors, cross‑selling services, managing a P&L, implementing company standards and strategic initiatives, and fostering talent growth and high employee morale. • Build and lead regional staff, overseeing market focus activities and client satisfaction • Generate new revenue and expand existing streams within the assigned market • Develop and track leads, forecast project pipeline, and create winning strategies • Achieve 8% year‑over‑year growth and meet yearly budgets and business plans • Collaborate with Practice Area Directors on staffing and project pursuits • Manage P&L, including NEF, UC, billing, collections, and multiplier targets • Implement company standards, playbooks, and Vision 2025/2035 initiatives • Drive talent acquisition, performance reviews, and training for team development • Ensure technical execution, QA/QC, and lead proposal writing and contract negotiations • Coordinate office events and maintain high employee morale • Oversee internship and development programs (SENSE, EDT, Intern)

What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience), with at least 15 years of market design experience and five years of management and P&L responsibility. Deep expertise in MEP systems, strong business development track record, and proven ability to achieve $1‑1.5 M in revenue are required, along with excellent communication, organization, and travel flexibility. • Cross‑sell services across multiple clients and understand the local AEC marketplace • B.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience) • 15+ years of market design experience; 5+ years in engineering/business development • Minimum 5 years of management experience with P&L responsibility • Deep knowledge of MEP systems; PE registration preferred • Proven ability to generate $1‑1.5 M annual revenue • Strong relationship‑building, communication, and fast‑pace work skills • Willingness to travel regionally on the East Coast and occasionally internationally • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
