About the Role
• Coordinate and supervise daily activities of the pipe crew. • Utilize heavy equipment to excavate, install, and backfill drainage pipe. • Sequence pipe installation to reduce interference with other project activities and the public. • Continuously inspect the work site for potential hazards or safety concerns. • Establish a safe work environment that complies with the company safety program and ensure crew safety. • Observe assigned equipment to detect malfunctions and assure proper operation and maintenance. • Analyze job cost reports to ensure production stays within budget. • Review and approve employee time reporting. • Maintain professional relationship with the Owner. • Climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely. • Read and interpret plans and understand specifications. • Verify dimensions, measurements, cutting, and pipe preparation for welding. • Submit daily progress reports and time sheets. • Read blueprints and other project‑related documents. • Use email, smartphone, tablet, or computer to manage company information and documents. • Maintain acceptable attendance standards per the employee handbook. • Stay constantly alert to multiple concurrent site activities, including those of other employees, contractors, stationary equipment, and mobile equipment movement.
