Job Highlights
About the Role
Drivers must follow WM Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA and DOT regulations, and all local, state and federal laws. They conduct pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections, report unsafe situations, attend scheduled training, and work closely with Operations Managers to improve route efficiency and address incidents or service interruptions. • Operate vehicles per WM safety, OSHA, DOT, and all legal regulations. • Complete pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and submit DVIR reports. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents, or service issues promptly. • Attend required training, briefings, and meetings. • Collaborate with Operations Manager to improve route efficiency. • Communicate customer requests and service interruptions to dispatch. • Safely load, transport, and dump waste/recyclable containers, leaving sites clean. • Follow assigned routes, complete end‑of‑day documentation, and assist teammates. • Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, and sitting.

What You Bring
Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear‑end lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclable containers to disposal, transfer or recycling facilities once legal load capacity is reached. Roles include Commercial Drivers who pick up heavy containers, Residential Drivers who collect household waste, and Roll‑off Drivers who handle large open‑top or compactor containers, all requiring skilled backing maneuvers in congested or tight environments. Required qualifications include at least one year operating a CDL‑required vehicle or equivalent recent military driving experience, being at least 18 years old, and having legal work eligibility. A valid CDL Class A or B with an air‑brake endorsement is mandatory; a high school diploma or GED is preferred. The role involves physical demands such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking and hearing, with accommodations possible for individuals with disabilities. Travel for this position may require a REAL ID or TSA‑approved alternative; candidates must be willing to obtain one if necessary. • Hold a valid CDL Class A or B with air‑brake endorsement (or equivalent recent military driving experience). • Be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the U.S. or Canada. • Possess a high school diploma or GED (preferred).
