About the Role

• Supervise overall financial health of projects and develop financial and equipment projections. • Allocate project estimates, determine cost codes, and approve invoices in the financial system. • Provide monthly owner billings and financial reports to Accounting. • Manage subcontractors and suppliers, overseeing budget selections. • Lead and mentor Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, assigning jobs and training. • Act as primary liaison with owners and on‑site representatives. • Resolve site issues, process change orders, and secure necessary approvals. • Maintain project schedules, budgets, quality, risk, safety, and compliance. • Utilize Microsoft Office and project/web applications at an intermediate level.

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager I to provide overall leadership for one large project or multiple projects, overseeing quality, timeliness, safety, and mentoring the team. The role involves developing and improving customer relationships through excellent service and requires strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment. Flexibility, inventiveness, dedication, efficiency, integrity, and confidentiality are essential for success. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in construction‑related field or equivalent experience. • Possess at least eight years of construction or project management experience. • Demonstrate active listening, effective communication, and openness to diverse feedback. • Understand basic construction law and standard business practices. • Exhibit a professional attitude, strong customer service, and ability to travel up to 100%. • Maintain a valid driver’s license.

Benefits

The base salary for this position ranges from $144,300 to $216,500, with higher ranges for certain office locations, and the role qualifies for Mortenson’s incentive plan. Visa sponsorship is not available; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
