About the Role
The Class A Lineman role focuses on building, maintaining, and repairing overhead electrical distribution networks. Work locations vary and may include travel across state lines to meet customer requirements. • Perform new construction, maintenance, or repair of energized and de‑energized overhead work safely. • Lead crew members in the absence of the Foreman. • String overhead wire and set poles and anchors. • Install transformers, lightning arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear. • Troubleshoot primary and secondary electrical systems. • Replace cutout fuses and clear faulted circuits. • Work with energized high‑voltage systems while protecting lives. • Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good condition. • Identify primary and secondary voltage on circuits. • Work at heights and in confined spaces; install and remove PPE and cover‑ups. • Climb various structures (wood, steel) using appropriate tools. • Phase out lines using phasing sticks. • Plan safe work based on job prints or work orders. • Conduct pre‑job or tailgate briefings. • Perform reconductoring safely. • Work live high‑voltage distribution lines with proper gloves. • Install and remove mechanical jumpers safely. • Travel long distances on short notice and work extended periods at various locations. • Lift over 50 lb and inspect rubber goods and PPE.

What You Bring
The position demands strict adherence to safety protocols while handling energized power lines, often at elevated or confined sites, and requires substantial physical endurance for outdoor work in all weather conditions. Applicants must bring at least five years of recent field experience, proficient English communication skills, and be prepared to secure a Commercial Driver’s License within the first two months of employment (a CDL is advantageous). Flexibility for long‑distance travel, heavy lifting, and irregular hours such as overtime, weekends, or holidays is essential. • Recognize induced voltage and follow grounding procedures. • Use a load‑bust tool effectively. • Work outdoors, often in inclement weather. • Minimum of five years recent field experience. • Read and communicate effectively in English. • Obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days of employment (CDL preferred). • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
