About the Role

The Maintenance Technician B works under the supervision of a Lead Technician, Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager to repair and maintain diesel and non‑diesel equipment and trucks, including chassis components, refuse bodies, control systems, hydraulics, electrical, air brakes, engines, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain, and steering. The role also involves basic tire work such as replacements, rotations, and tread depth checks. Employees enjoy working on a single fleet of advanced vehicles, receive training on new technologies, and benefit from a stable, regular shift schedule. Key responsibilities include performing preventative and corrective maintenance on a wide range of vehicle systems both on‑site and on the road, providing safe road service to return equipment to operation, and using electronic diagnostic tools to pinpoint malfunctions. The technician must complete applicable company training programs and may also perform line maintenance welding and fabrication. Additional duties are assigned as needed. • Perform repair and maintenance on diesel and non‑diesel trucks, including chassis, hydraulic, electrical, air brakes, engines, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain, and steering systems. • Conduct basic tire work such as replacement, rotation, and tread depth checks. • Provide safe road service to return equipment to operation efficiently. • Use electronic diagnostic tools to identify malfunctions and complete required training. • Maintain knowledge of vehicle components for preventative and corrective maintenance on‑site and on the road. • Diagnose and repair gasoline and diesel equipment, covering suspensions, steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, and emissions systems. • Participate in the Employee and Family Assistance Program and flexible spending accounts. • Work within a company committed to safety, customer service, environmental responsibility, results, and respect for people.

What You Bring

Candidates should understand work order labor time standards and have prior experience with light, medium‑duty, or heavy‑duty trucks, aircraft, or ships. ASE certifications (T1‑T8) and a Commercial Driver’s License are advantageous but not required; a valid driver’s license is mandatory. A minimum of one year of technician experience or recent graduation from an accredited automotive college or technical school within three months is required. • Meet at least one year of technical experience or graduate from an accredited automotive program within three months. • Hold a valid driver’s license; ASE certifications and a commercial driver’s license are advantageous.
