About the Role

• Responsible for the mechanical engineering design work on assigned projects. • Serve as lead engineer on all size projects, maintaining responsibility for deliverable development. • Coordinate with the mechanical piping design team to direct completion of engineering drawings. • Collaborate across disciplines on equipment general arrangements, P&IDs, isometrics, asset and tie‑in lists, orthographic drawings, etc. • Provide technical expertise for risk assessments, due diligence, and other studies, presenting complex solutions to clients. • Generate mechanical engineering deliverables supporting all scope phases—from feasibility through detail design. • Develop construction and equipment specifications and material requisitions. • Provide home‑office support during construction, start‑up, and commissioning phases. • Perform quality‑control reviews of work developed by others. • Participate in project and client meetings. • Interact with vendors, regulatory agencies, and contractors. • Assist with internal and external presentations. • Travel occasionally to client or project sites.

What You Bring

The successful candidate will possess deep mechanical engineering design expertise for process/mechanical and generation projects and will lead technical efforts throughout all project phases. • BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering with 6 + years related experience or equivalent education/experience. • Experience in mechanical engineering for power‑generation facilities. • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license. • 12 + years experience with power‑generation facilities. • 5 + years as project technical mechanical lead or engineer of record. • Design experience on combined‑cycle plants and nuclear generation stations. • Expert knowledge of industry codes and standards (API, ASME, PIP, ANSI, ASTM, etc.). • Expertise specifying mechanical equipment (rotating and static) and piping material specifications. • Familiarity with diverse metallurgy. • Startup and commissioning field experience. • Strong proficiency with engineering software such as Thermoflow, HYSYS, Caesar II, Pipe‑Flo, AspenTech, or Applied Flow Technology. • Experience with collaborative model environments (e.g., Navisworks, BIM 360). • Demonstrated participation in complex, multi‑discipline programs/projects. • Successful experience working in remote and multi‑discipline teams.
