Engineer IV (Electrical) - Sustainability
Lead electrical sustainability projects for college capital construction bond program.
Job Highlights
About the Role
• Lead and manage sustainability projects per district policies and construction bond procedures. • Implement electrification of central plants and building systems per the Clean Energy Resolution. • Apply sustainable building principles and standards to resolve complex system issues. • Support district‑wide energy master planning, carbon reduction, grid resiliency and electrification initiatives. • Utilize LEED credit strategies to improve operational efficiency. • Ensure compliance with Title 24 and ASHRAE recommendations. • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams with project managers to meet project requirements and timelines. • Provide technical second‑opinion reviews for college project teams, including RFCs and change orders. • Travel to project sites for meetings as required. • Participate in all project lifecycle phases: master planning, design, construction and closeout. • Perform electrical engineering analysis and produce technical reports aligned with district design guidelines. • Integrate LED lighting, photovoltaic, battery energy storage, EV charging, microgrids and smart controls.

What You Bring
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and at least ten years of professional experience in design, construction or facilities infrastructure projects, with strong knowledge of California energy codes, Title 24, NEC and Cal Green. Preferred qualifications include two years’ experience in educational facility construction, LEED or CHPS certification, and a California PE license. • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. • Minimum 10 years of electrical engineering experience in design, construction or facilities infrastructure. • Strong knowledge of California Energy Codes, Title 24, NEC, and Cal Green (CFR Part 11). • Preferred: 2 years experience in educational facility construction. • Preferred: LEED or CHPS certification. • Preferred: California PE license in Electrical Engineering.
