About the Role

Successful candidates will be responsible for a wide range of repairs and maintenance tasks, ensuring homes are safe, functional and well‑maintained while respecting residents’ privacy and adhering to health‑and‑safety standards. • Carry out responsive repairs in occupied social housing (carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, decorating) • Replace or repair skirting boards, architraves, and internal door frames • Install and adjust kitchen units, worktops, and cupboard doors • Repair or replace internal doors, handles, locks, and hinges • Fix minor plumbing issues such as leaks, dripping taps, and blocked sinks • Perform patch plastering and make good damaged walls or ceilings • Complete wall and floor tiling repairs, including grouting and sealing • Paint and decorate to a professional finish after repairs • Record job details, materials used, and completion notes using handheld devices or job sheets • Maintain tools, equipment, and the company vehicle in good working order • Manage daily workload efficiently to meet service level targets • Deliver excellent customer service in residents' homes • Report additional works, safeguarding concerns, or out‑of‑scope property issues

What You Bring

The role supports a busy responsive‑repairs contract, working across occupied social‑housing properties throughout the UK. Mears Group is offering a full‑time permanent position as a Multi‑Skilled Operative in Thurrock, with an annual salary up to £38,703.26, a company van and fuel card, and a standard 42.5‑hour week (Monday‑Friday, 8‑5).
