Operations Leader - Central Distribution Center - 2nd shift

About the Role
The Operations Leader for our continuously operating omnichannel distribution center in Jackson, TN, will guide a team of experienced operations leaders and employees to deliver outstanding service to both internal and external customers. Reporting to the Site Director of the Central Distribution Center and collaborating with the Optimization Leader, this role supports long‑term DC strategy and cross‑functional growth initiatives. In this 24/7 operation (Friday‑Monday overnight shift), the leader manages Group Leaders and staff, oversees outbound distribution functions such as picking, replenishment, material movement, and dock operations, and is responsible for budgeting, project coordination, safety, quality, KPI monitoring, SOP compliance, and inventory management. • Lead a team of 4‑6 salaried and hourly leaders across picking, replenishment, material movement, and dock operations. • Oversee mid‑to‑long‑range budget planning, project coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives. • Drive safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvement projects across the distribution center. • Monitor key performance indicators and develop innovative solutions to recurring operational challenges. • Ensure SOP compliance and maintain high customer service standards, reducing mis‑shipments and backorders. • Manage all inventory functions, including auditing, slotting, and optimization. • Partner with HR to attract, retain, and develop a motivated workforce while encouraging new ideas. • Promote a culture of safety, 5S, and continuous improvement throughout the facility.

What You Bring
Candidates should have at least five years of supervisory experience in a distribution or fulfillment environment, a bachelor's degree preferred, and proven ability to manage people leaders. Familiarity with warehouse inventory processes, 5S, Six Sigma, and strong coaching and change‑management skills are essential. The position requires flexibility to work various shifts, occasional travel, and the physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lb, and operate standard warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in distribution/fulfillment (or equivalent). • Bachelor’s degree preferred and experience managing people leaders. • Knowledge of warehouse inventory management, auditing, and optimization processes. • 5S and Six Sigma experience preferred. • Strong coaching ability and proven capacity to implement projects with urgency. • Demonstrated commitment to collaboration, inclusion, and employee engagement.
