About the Role
The technician will operate, maintain and monitor a groundwater extraction and treatment system, performing weekly data collection, adjusting well flows and pressures, participating in bi‑weekly coordination calls, collecting regulatory samples, responding to alarms, conducting routine maintenance, and supervising subcontractors during carbon change‑outs. • Perform weekly site visits to collect flow, pressure, vacuum, and photo‑ionization detector data. • Adjust well flow rates and pressures according to engineer instructions to optimise system performance. • Participate in bi‑weekly coordination calls with the project manager, lead remedial engineer, and partner‑in‑charge. • Collect and submit groundwater samples for VOC and other permit‑required analyte analysis. • Respond to system alarms, troubleshoot and restart equipment in collaboration with the ERM engineer. • Conduct routine maintenance on pumps, compressors, stripping‑tower media, valves, switches and alarms. • Supervise subcontractors during periodic active‑carbon replacements.

What You Bring
ERM is hiring a part‑time Remediation System Technician to support a major client site in Bromont, Quebec. The role requires an average of 2‑3 on‑site days per week, totals 24 hours per week, and is initially for a 12‑month term with the possibility of annual renewal. Candidates should have at least two years of experience with remediation sites or systems, a university degree in an environmental discipline (preferred), and be fully bilingual in French and English, with technical French considered a plus. Required certifications include a completed 40‑hour HAZWOPER course, and the ability to respond to emergencies within 24 hours. Strong communication, multitasking, autonomous work habits and a client‑service mindset are essential. • Minimum 2 years experience on remediation sites or systems; environmental degree preferred. • Bilingual French and English required; technical French considered an asset. • Completed 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification and availability for emergency response within 24 hours. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement. • Ability to multitask, work autonomously with limited supervision, and deliver high‑quality results.

Benefits
The position offers a salary range of $72,608 to $94,867 CAD annually ($34.90‑$45.60 per hour) for a limited‑term, non‑exempt role. Benefits, including paid time off, medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and life and disability insurance, are provided to regular employees working 20 or more hours per week; casual and Flexforce staff are not eligible for bonuses. • Salary $72,608–$94,867 CAD annually ($34.90–$45.60 per hour); limited‑term, non‑exempt position. • Comprehensive benefits (paid time off, medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life & disability) for employees working ≥20 hours/week; bonuses not available for casual or Flexforce staff.
