About the Role
The Assistant Community Manager reports to the Community Manager and oversees daily operations and financial functions of a housing community. Responsibilities include rent delinquency and collection, cash‑flow optimization, and managing all phases of operations—personnel, leasing, maintenance, finance, administration and risk management—especially in the manager’s absence. The role also ensures compliance with company policies, safety standards and fair‑housing guidelines. • Post and reconcile all resident payments, account receivables, and daily financial transactions accurately and timely. • Monitor bad debt, issue late notices, contact residents/guarantors, and prepare eviction filings. • Perform month‑end closing procedures, generate financial reports, and maintain organized resident records. • Supervise onsite staff attendance, screen, hire, train, coach and ensure compliance with company policies. • Provide ongoing staff development through training, counseling and performance guidance. • Implement effective leasing techniques, follow‑up procedures, lease signing documentation and accurate reporting. • Execute marketing strategies from the annual plan and develop resident retention programs such as events and newsletters. • Address resident complaints, concerns and service requests to maintain high satisfaction levels. • Oversee customer service, monitor maintenance request turnaround, conduct regular property inspections and ensure timely repairs. • Plan and manage property resources, obtain competitive bids from vendors, and control equipment and supply costs.

What You Bring
• Required qualifications: High School diploma (Bachelor’s preferred), 1‑2 years housing industry experience, basic computer skills, knowledge of Fair Housing and OSHA regulations. • Physical demands include prolonged standing or sitting, lifting up to 25 lb, climbing ladders or stairs, working overtime, weekends or nights, and exposure to various indoor/outdoor conditions.

Compensation is based on skill set, experience and certifications, with an hourly salary ranging from $17.00 to $20.00.
