About the Role
The Carpenter reports to the Carpenter Foreman and Superintendent and is classified as a non‑exempt employee. This role is responsible for on‑site execution of assigned tasks, coordinating daily with the foreman or superintendent to track and complete work, supporting project layout control, and adhering to JHL’s safety and quality programs. The Carpenter also trains apprentice carpenters and laborers and has direct authority over on‑site JHL craft when a foreman is absent. • Assist in building layout • Erect temporary walkways, ramps, and scaffolding • Set forms for concrete and place/finish concrete • Layout and install embeds and reinforcing steel • Hang doors and install hardware • Perform trim and finish carpentry • Install wood and metal blocking • Maintain OSHA 10 certification and complete refresher training • Obtain project‑specific and equipment safety training as required • Operate equipment such as skid‑steers, lifts, and forklifts • Perform stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching with dexterity

What You Bring
• High School Diploma or GED preferred • Complete CITC apprenticeship or demonstrate substantial industry experience • Understand and apply basic framing techniques • Stand or kneel for extended periods (approximately 90% of work time) • Lift up to 50 lb and handle tools and materials • Communicate effectively in English and hear clearly • Maintain clear vision, using glasses or contacts if needed
