About the Role

In this role you will oversee hydraulic and hydrological modeling, conduct flood risk assessments and drainage impact studies, and provide technical leadership to ensure compliance with design standards. You will develop water‑sensitive urban design solutions, coordinate with CAD/BIM/3‑D teams, and liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to secure approvals. • Lead planning, design, and delivery of drainage and stormwater management systems for infrastructure projects. • Manage hydraulic and hydrological modeling, flood risk assessments, and drainage impact studies. • Provide technical leadership and ensure compliance with design standards, reviewing and approving calculations, drawings, and reports. • Develop water‑sensitive urban design (WSUD) solutions and coordinate with CAD/BIM/3‑D modeling teams. • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to secure approvals and resolve technical issues. • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to achieve successful delivery. • Mentor and develop team members, fostering technical capability and professional growth. • Stay current with emerging drainage technologies, modeling tools, and industry regulations.

What You Bring

The successful candidate will hold a bachelor's degree in civil, hydraulic, hydrology or water engineering, with a master's degree considered an advantage, and bring at least 20 years of experience in water engineering and stormwater drainage design. Required expertise includes advanced proficiency in modeling software such as SWMM, StormCAD, HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, and InfoWorks ICM, strong GIS and CAD skills, and Chartered Engineer (CEng) qualification or progress toward it. • Hold a BSc in Civil/Hydraulic/Hydrology/Water Engineering; MSc advantageous. • Minimum 20 years of water engineering experience, including stormwater drainage design for civil and transport projects. • Proficient in hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software (SWMM, StormCAD, HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, InfoWorks ICM 1D/2D). • Strong GIS and CAD skills (ArcMap, QGIS, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation). • Chartered Engineer (CEng) qualified or progressing, with MME Engineer Registration to be obtained within six months. • Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, manage multiple projects, and communicate effectively. • Experience in Qatar and the Middle East is a plus.
