About the Role
• Coordinate daily activities of the DDW India engineering office and collaborate with DDW Dubai teams. • Prepare engineering deliverables, man‑hour estimates, and schedules for structural projects. • Plan structural engineering programmes and organise project staff in consultation with Dubai engineering. • Manage engineering changes and approvals to meet Dubai office requirements. • Ensure work is performed safely, with quality, environmental compliance and cost efficiency. • Monitor project progress against schedule and budget; allocate resources as needed. • Follow up on corrective actions for quality, production, equipment, tooling and customer issues. • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance team performance. • Drive continuous improvement of processes, quality and cost to maintain profitability. • Promote and enforce a safe, healthy work environment in line with legislation and company policy. • Optimise use of department resources, equipment and manpower. • Review and develop structural section processes in consultation with Dubai engineering. • Assist in interviewing, hiring and training employees to meet project requirements. • Oversee staff competence development and succession planning within the department. • Implement and monitor occupational health & safety, environmental and quality management systems. • Coordinate with procurement, production and PMT for optimal technical bid material delivery. • Contribute to strategy meetings to define safety and production efficiency and detail construction sequences.

What You Bring
The Senior Structural Engineer will lead structural production engineering projects for marine and offshore initiatives at Drydocks World’s India office, reporting to the GSC Structural Assistant Manager. This role requires extensive experience in new‑build and conversion projects, a focus on productivity, quality, and budget adherence, and the ability to coordinate closely with the Dubai engineering team. • Strong technical knowledge of marine and offshore projects. • Understanding of management approaches for direction, motivation, performance and discipline. • Knowledge of material selection per classification societies (DNV‑GL, ABS, LR, Norsok, BS, EN, ISO, API). • Ability to review material certificates and properties for shipbuilding and offshore projects. • Proficiency with structural design standards (EN/DIN/JIS/Norsok/API, AISC) and industry regulations. • Experience resolving technical issues during engineering and execution phases. • Deep understanding of structural engineering practices and problem‑solving methods. • Capability in cost analysis, engineering design and delivering cost‑effective results. • Excellent program and project management with strong document control. • Proficiency in 3D modelling software (Tekla Structure, Cadmatic, Navisworks, AutoCAD, etc.). • Familiarity with local and international legislative requirements. • Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks under pressure. • Professional demeanor in stressful conditions. • Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. • Minimum 15 years experience in shipyard, offshore/Oil & Gas design and production engineering. • At least 10 years in production engineering with hands‑on marine and offshore projects. • Minimum 5 years experience on shipyard, major production/construction sites or heavy industry.
