Shift Engineer

About the Role

The Shift Engineer / Site Engineer role in our Property and Asset Management business ensures that all technical services remain operational throughout the assigned shift. You will lead the engineering team, coordinate with the Property Manager or Assistant Property Manager, and act as the primary point of contact for technical issues affecting clients and occupants. Key duties include managing electromechanical and utility services with a technician team, preparing and executing planned preventive maintenance, and conducting regular site inspections to identify risks and defects. You will oversee asset tracking during defect liability periods, hire and develop maintenance staff, control budgets, monitor SLA and KPI performance, and manage vendor contracts, quotations, invoices and monthly meetings. Additionally, you will drive energy‑conservation initiatives, maintain equipment history and logbooks, ensure work permits and safety procedures are followed, and produce engineering reports while supporting risk assessments and emergency response planning. • Manage electromechanical and utility services with the technician team. • Plan and execute preventive maintenance programs. • Conduct regular site inspections to detect risks and defects. • Review and guide subordinate staff work. • Track assets under defect liability and AMC/CAMC periods. • Recruit, train, and develop maintenance personnel. • Establish budgeting controls and monitor SLA/KPI performance. • Ensure timely renewal of contracts, invoice processing, and payment follow‑up. • Oversee vendor quotations, invoices, and cost‑sheet approvals. • Hold monthly vendor meetings and enforce corrective actions. • Implement energy‑conservation measures and prepare monthly consumption reports. • Maintain equipment history cards and logbooks. • Address major complaints, escalations, and coordinate technical response. • Verify work permits and enforce safe work practices. • Assist in risk assessments, root‑cause analysis, and mitigation planning. • Create corrective, preventive, and emergency response action plans. • Participate in evacuation drills and serve on ERT/QRT teams. • Produce engineering reports (DMR, MMR) and collaborate with regional and head‑office teams. • Promote the “No Safety No Work” service principle.

What You Bring

We are looking for an analytical, meticulous professional who excels at coordination, problem‑solving and attention to detail. The ideal candidate holds a degree or diploma in Electrical or Mechanical engineering (or equivalent) and brings 3–5 years of experience in real estate, hotel or construction, with residential site experience preferred. • Hold a degree/diploma in Electrical or Mechanical engineering (or equivalent). • Possess 3–5 years of experience in real estate, hotel, or construction; residential site experience preferred.
