About the Role

The position involves designing, calculating, and proposing fire safety solutions for projects of varying scale, acting as a key point of contact and technical expert. Responsibilities include surveys, reporting, and day‑to‑day management of secured programmes. • Prepare design packages and technical specifications for all RIBA stages. • Design fire suppression system solutions for building and industrial applications. • Perform hydraulic calculations for sprinkler water supplies and gas suppression agents. • Lead remote project delivery teams and coordinate multidisciplinary efforts. • Develop fee proposals for fire system design from RIBA Stage 1 through Stage 7. • Conduct technical reviews and resolve design issues, including field investigations. • Communicate effectively with clients, authorities, contractors and project teams. • Manage delivery of small and large‑scale fire protection projects.

The role is classified under Business Group DCS, Business Line Buildings & Places, and will operate from the UK – St Albans office (10 Bricket Road) with a hybrid work model. • Knowledge of British and International design standards and Building regulations is essential. • A clear work history and proof of professional development and learning. • Relevant degree or professional qualification (BEng, MEng, PhD). • Registered with Engineering Council (CEng; IEng) or working towards achieving it.
