About the Role

This senior‑level Power Engineering Technologist role provides advanced technical expertise to analyze complex options and create power distribution facility designs for residential, commercial, industrial, and large‑scale reliability projects. The incumbent acts as a first‑level leader, training new employees and serving as a liaison between the client and project team. The work is complex, requiring major decision‑making where established procedures may not exist. The position influences high‑impact decisions, often serving as a team lead or Project Manager I, and must exercise tact and diplomacy with external stakeholders. • Direct workflow and activities of Engineering Technologists and others as assigned. • Coordinate with Pike Engineering PE to ensure compliance with all codes and client standards. • Design complex electric distribution facilities and circuit construction projects across a wide geographic area, including downtown underground, high‑profile, highway relocation, and high‑reliability projects. • Prepare site drawings, construction drawings, calculations, easements, and required documentation for complex electrical distribution installations. • Create work requests using management tools and communicate schedules, commitments, feasibility, timeframes, and expectations to clients or end‑use customers. • Develop relationships with internal and external customers, builders, developers, electricians, utilities, and city officials as needed. • Coordinate with construction personnel and clients to resolve job‑site design or customer issues. • Serve as departmental lead to assist with training and provide technical support for other engineering classifications. • Act as lead or single point of contact for large infrastructure projects, coordinating technicians, engineers, and field resources to meet deliverables. • Learn, practice, and promote all safety policies and procedures at all times.

What You Bring

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (with a preference for an associate or bachelor’s degree), 5‑7 years of utility power distribution experience, regular attendance, a valid driver’s license, and strong mathematical, communication, and computer skills. Candidates should be self‑motivated, reliable, and able to work safely and professionally. Physical demands involve frequent standing, walking, and sitting, regular hand use, occasional climbing or stooping, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements cover close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment. The work environment includes occasional wet conditions, heights, and risk of electrical shock, with moderate noise levels.
