What You Bring
The role requires appropriate electrical qualifications, health and safety knowledge, and strong organisational and interpersonal abilities. • Minimum two years’ experience as an electrician. • Experience with commercial or industrial electrical systems. • Knowledge of planned preventive maintenance operations. • Qualified to C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation) and NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent). • Hold 18th Edition certification and BS 7671. • Strong health and safety knowledge. • Excellent organisational, time‑management and people skills.

The position is for an Electrician at HMP The Mount in Bovingdon, Hemel Hempstead (HP3 0NZ). The role offers a salary between £39,579.20 and £43,177.30, plus a £1,000 RRA allowance and a 5 % shift allowance. It is a full‑time, permanent contract with two vacancies available. We are looking for a dedicated Electrician to join our Facilities Maintenance Team in a Category C prison. Our team works Monday‑Sunday as a supportive, family‑like environment, collaborating to create a safe and nurturing setting for prisoners, staff, and visitors. In this role you will work alongside experienced plumbers, carpenters, painters, cleaners, administrators and other electricians, all committed to rehabilitation and positive change.
