About the Role
Key responsibilities span several domains: designing and executing a learning strategy, identifying capability gaps through analytics, delivering blended learning solutions, owning the performance management framework, creating leadership development programs, leading workforce development initiatives, and managing succession planning for critical roles. The role also establishes metrics to measure ROI, oversees the Learning Management System, manages talent‑management budgets, and negotiates with external vendors. Collaboration with HR, Operations, Safety and business leaders, as well as travel to Zekelman facilities (approximately 30 % of time), are integral to success. • Develop and execute an enterprise-wide learning and development strategy aligned with business goals. • Identify capability gaps using performance data and workforce analytics. • Design and deliver scalable learning solutions (in‑person, virtual, e‑learning, coaching, job shadowing). • Own and continuously improve the performance management framework to promote accountability and development. • Partner with leaders to strengthen goal setting, feedback, and development planning. • Create and facilitate leadership and executive development programs, coaching senior leaders. • Lead workforce development initiatives that align hiring, onboarding, and role readiness with strategic objectives. • Design and manage succession planning and talent pipeline strategies for critical roles. • Establish metrics to measure ROI of talent, learning, and leadership initiatives. • Oversee the Learning Management System and related talent systems for accurate tracking and reporting. • Manage talent‑management budgets and negotiate with external vendors for cost‑effective delivery. • Collaborate cross‑functionally with HR, Operations, Safety, and business leaders. • Travel to Zekelman facilities (~30% of time) to support development initiatives.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development or a related field; a CPLP or similar professional certification is a plus. They bring 7–10+ years of progressive experience in talent management, learning and development or organizational development, with proven success leading performance management, leadership development and succession planning initiatives, and strong expertise with LMS platforms, talent systems, analytics and budget management. Required knowledge, skills and abilities include deep expertise across learning, performance, leadership, workforce development and succession, strong executive presence, a strategic data‑driven mindset with business acumen, exceptional communication, facilitation and coaching skills, and the ability to design and scale enterprise‑level talent solutions. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field; CPLP certification a plus. • Bring 7‑10+ years of progressive talent‑management experience with strong LMS and analytics expertise.
