About the Role

The Technical Sales Engineer provides field sales support, working closely with T20 contractors, key engineering accounts, and internal sales and product engineering teams. They develop and maintain relationships with engineers, architects, contractors, government agencies, and others to ensure company products appear in all relevant sections of master specifications. Responsibilities include delivering professional product presentations, specification review services, and technical sales assistance while soliciting new customers to boost product demand. The role executes sales and account strategies aligned with corporate goals, developing plans for strategic accounts to exceed revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction targets. The engineer calls on a wide range of professionals to secure master specification inclusion, provides technical sales assistance to regional and district sales managers, and collaborates with cross‑functional teams to revise existing specifications and create new ones. Regular presentations, product sampling, and PowerPoint tools are used to advance market growth, and a cycle of scheduled calls and visits expands the contractor database. Support for code enforcement officials is provided as needed, ensuring accurate code interpretation and proper installation of products. The engineer maintains monthly sales reports, business metrics, and forecasts, prepares weekly updates for management, and tracks travel and incidental expenses within budget. CRM and engineering guide specification databases are kept current, and daily activity calendars are utilized to document sales calls and rank contractors. Additional duties include attending required meetings, participating in local societies such as ASPE, MCA, and ASHRAE to promote product knowledge, and performing other tasks as assigned. The position requires up to 50 % travel and fluency in both French and English. • Provide technical support to field sales and act as liaison with contractors, engineers, architects, and government agencies. • Ensure company products are included in master specifications by building relationships with key decision makers. • Deliver technical presentations and specification reviews using product samples and PowerPoint. • Develop and execute account strategies to achieve revenue growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction. • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to revise existing specifications and develop new ones. • Generate and follow up on leads from trade shows, prospect new customers, and expand the contractor database. • Maintain monthly sales reports, forecasts, expense tracking, and keep CRM/SAP Mobile Sales data up‑to‑date. • Support code enforcement officials to ensure proper product installation and accurate code interpretation. • Travel up to 50 % of the time and provide training and support at various locations.
