About the Role

The role includes setting up trailers, studying blueprints to determine material requirements, building decks, stairs, roofs and other temporary structures, installing shelves, tool trailers, and erosion control measures, hand‑setting forms, assisting journeymen and foremen with grading, handling and erecting prefabricated materials, and performing concrete and rough carpentry tasks such as walls, footings, forms, decks, drywall, finish carpentry, doors, frames, hardware, millwork, and cabinetry. The Carpenter I will also build relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and perform any other duties as assigned. • Set up trailers and tool trailers/conex’s. • Review blueprints and sketches to determine material requirements and dimensions. • Build decks, stairs, roofs, and other temporary structures; install shelves. • Install erosion control measures such as silt fences and straw bales. • Hand‑set and assemble gang forms for concrete work. • Assist journeymen and foremen with shooting grades and elevations. • Unload, stockpile, and erect prefabricated materials. • Perform concrete and rough carpentry tasks including walls, footings, forms, decks, drywall, finish carpentry, doors, frames, hardware, millwork, and cabinetry.

What You Bring

Mortenson is seeking a Carpenter I who will be responsible for construction and repair, as well as forming and rebar tying in compliance with local building codes and general construction principles. The position involves forming and rebar tying in compliance with local building codes and general construction principles. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of carpentry experience, and preferably a trade or technical school certification. They must be able to work with precision, visualize objects from drawings, communicate effectively in English, and demonstrate teamwork, a positive attitude, detail orientation, and strong customer service skills. Physical requirements include repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements and lifting up to 50 lb, with assistance required for heavier loads. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship. The company does not accept unsolicited agency communications.
