About the Role
• Support the company’s safety culture and mentor others toward an injury‑free environment. • Coordinate technology‑related design and construction to meet constructability, quality, financial and technical standards. • Provide technical expertise for design assist, installation, and network integration of complete systems. • Create technology‑specific scopes of work and responsibility matrices for individual projects. • Perform quantity takeoffs and obtain vendor/trade pricing to compile accurate budgets or hard‑bid proposals. • Manage budgets, costs and projections for assigned projects. • Develop, disseminate, and enforce Aptitude processes and standards. • Lead, coach and motivate team members in line with JE Dunn’s strategic objectives and core values. • Deploy Aptitude strategies to achieve project financial, quality and performance objectives. • Participate in companywide communication programs and strategy sessions to enhance marketing, sales and delivery of technology services. • Manage schedules, staffing projections, billing and collections for assigned projects. • Develop and manage project plans and schedules to identify tasks, resources and timing to meet scope, schedule, cost and quality goals. • Track and report progress on project milestones to team members, stakeholders and leaders. • Communicate, track and resolve issues promptly throughout the project lifecycle. • Define result measurements and conduct post‑project performance evaluations. • Ensure proper management and archiving of all project documents upon completion. • Manage the technology consulting process between JE Dunn and client/owner’s consultants and contractors. • Initiate business development activities to grow Aptitude’s contribution to the organization. • Support JE Dunn project pursuits to maximize value‑added benefits of Aptitude for internal and external customers. • Identify and develop new technologies that support the Smart Building offering. • Facilitate internal and external training to raise awareness of the Aptitude offering. • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, networking, benchmarking, and professional societies. • Engage local civic organizations and municipalities to position Aptitude as a differentiator and industry leader. • Assist in recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees to grow staff. • Conduct effective presentations. • Develop project proposals, fees and work plans. • Build relationships and collaborate within internal and external teams. • Manage budgets, maximize profitability and generate future work through relationships. • Build lasting relationships with team members beyond individual projects. • Work may be on project sites or office; includes sitting, standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling.

Role Summary: The Aptitude Project Manager 2 will be responsible for constructability reviews, conceptual estimating, consultation, bid pricing, project management, change management and coordinating with project teams on technology or Aptitude scopes of work. This position is expected to be a subject matter expert who, through strong leadership, communication and project management skills, effectively integrates technology scopes on selected projects. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn. Autonomy & Decision Making: Makes decisions within defined limits of authority and consults supervisor on other decisions. Career Path: Senior Aptitude Project Manager. • Perform work accurately, completely and timely. • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing (intermediate level). • Use MS Office proficiently (intermediate). • Exhibit strong personal and interpersonal skills as a self‑starter with strong follow‑through. • Understand project processes and how they support successful project completion. • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, IT or related field (or equivalent experience). • 8+ years experience in Information Technology/Security/Life Safety systems. • 5+ years of project management experience. • Valid unrestricted driver’s license. • Ability to lift up to 25 lb; may require travel, relocation, non‑traditional hours, and exposure to extreme conditions.
